(ii) MCCEE and MCCQE Part
1 required; MCCQE Part 2 preferred
PART A - Assessment
1) Therapeutics Assessment
2) Clinical Assessment (OSCE):
clinical skills
diagnosis and problem definition
clinical reasoning and decision making
investigation and management
professional behaviour
communication skills
Report provided to
Regulatory Authority by CAPP
PART B – (in Nova Scotia)
Credentials Committee considers defined license
If license granted then:
Sponsor identified (DHA)
Mandatory orientation program
Initial phase (4 weeks)
Mentorship formalized (12 months)
CME needs identified and educational plan developed
On-going assessment by mentor
On-site assessment by external assessor at 4-6 months
Patient feedback survey at 10 months
After One Year
PART C – (in Nova Scotia) >
Continuation of defined licence, conditions
and further follow-up decided following a review of all reports
and assessments by the Credentials Committee
Multi-source feedback at 18 months
Reassessment as necessary
CME activities reviewed and ongoing and new
needs identified
